Capella State High School values the input of students in our decision-making processes and recognises the important traditions of student leadership. Numerous opportunities exist for students aspiring to leadership roles. Every senior student takes on the role of a homeroom leader, responsible for setting the standard of behaviour within their multi-age Engage group.
All students are represented by two senior school captains from year 12 and two junior school captains from year 9. Bradman and Fraser are each represented by two house captains from years 10 to 12. All captaincy roles are appointed through a recruitment process that includes a written application, an interview with the school’s leadership team, and an election. All appointed student leaders are, ex officio, members of student council, and all students are able to self-nominate to participate in the processes of student council.
We inspire leadership in all students through our Student Engagement and Wellbeing Framework, including our Engage homeroom, Evolve care sessions, and our Enhance co-curricular programme.
