District Sports
Central Highlands district sport is offered at Capella State High School. Students can nominate to represent our school at sporting events. They should have prior experience in their chosen sport.
Opportunities are posted on student notices as information comes to the sports co-ordinator. It is the student's responsibility to listen to notices, collect forms from C-block staffroom, and return them to the office by the due date. Some sports have a tight turnaround from information coming into the school and permission notes needing to be returned; students need to be vigilant with due dates, as the information must be passed onto Central Highlands School Sport administration and deadlines cannot be extended.
Some sports have paper nomination forms on which students need to list their prior experience in the sport and the nomination is sent to CH administration for consideration.
Students who turn 12 in their first year of high school may continue attending Peak Downs trials to gain entrance into CH trials.
School fees must be fully paid or on a payment plan before any student can attend a sporting event.
Capella Cobras (Volleyball and Rugby Union)
Capella Cobras are our sporting teams in volleyball and rugby union. They undertake a planned training regime during and after school and participate in competitions against other schools.
Capella Cobras promotes the values of success, teamwork, attitude and respect, and members of the team work on developing their traits in these areas.
The teams train weekly and enter in competitions. The main competition is hosted by our school, with teams invited from high schools in the Central Highlands region.
Parents and community are invited to attend and support our teams' games.
